About me and my therapy practice

I work online and specialise in anxiety, depression, eating disorders, grief and loss, neurodiversity (autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia), OCD, panic attacks, relationship issues (partner, family, friends, colleagues) and exploring self esteem / sense of self.

What is counselling and psychotherapy? Therapy is a bit like a structured conversation where you can speak freely about your life without judgement. It isn’t always necessary to have a problem to focus on, sometimes it can be helpful to reflect on how you are thinking and feeling about your values, experiences and relationships. Therapy can provide the space to grow self-awareness, develop personally and achieve your potential. I work online (video, instant chat, email and phone):

This is a brief overview that we can talk more about when we meet.

My background & training I have a Masters in Therapeutic Counselling where I trained in a relational approach to counselling and psychotherapy that integrates a number of therapeutic schools, including psychodynamic, CBT and person-centred approaches. Since training I have completed additional training to qualify to work as an online therapist, and to work with clients with eating disorders. I now work full-time in my private practice where I work online with clients.

My background includes private practice and work in long-term, low cost counselling, as well as short-term therapy in universities, working short term (6 weeks).

Professional Accreditations I am a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ Accred) accredited counsellor and psychotherapist and a British Psychological Society (BPS) registered graduate member.

I am ACTO registered and have completed eating disorder treatment training in Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at The Centre for Research on Dissemination at Oxford, Oxford University Department of Psychiatry.

Supervisor - London

London SE19
Sessions from £58.50

Availability

I am available for supervision from Monday - Friday from 7.30am until 7.30pm

About me and my therapy practice

I offer clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists online. Here’s some of what supervision with me looks like:

A Safe Environment to Talk

Supervision can be a challenging space to occupy that raises power dynamics and transference issues. In my experience we all develop better in spaces where we don't feel ashamed or lesser. All therapists make mistakes and feel stuck at times. I want to make supervision a shame-free zone where it's possible to talk about vulnerabilities and errors in a way that feels as safe as possible, and allows us reflection, learning and development

An Integrative Approach

My work is based on the seven-eyed model of supervision and is integrative, most influenced by psychodynamic theory, person centred therapy and CBT. I am also trained in relational therapy and treatment for eating disorders (CBT-E).

Qualifications

I am a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ accredited integrative psychotherapist, a CBT-E qualified therapist and an ACTO registered online therapist. I have a Master’s degree (level 7) in Therapeutic Counselling. I trained in Supervision with the British Psychological Society .

My therapy practice areas:

I have experience and an interest in:

anxiety (including panic attacks)

depression

eating disorders

grief and loss

neurodiversity (autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia)

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder OCD

relationship issues (partner, family, friends, colleagues)

self esteem / sense of self

Practice description

Support with Practicalities, like Fees and Marketing

I like supporting you with practical things like managing your fees, boundary issues around fees and attendance, websites, managing expenses, ethically marketing your private practice, and working online.

We are both open to learning in the space

I will never have all the answers. But I will ask gentle questions to help you reflect and find new understandings about your clients and yourself as a therapist. Together I hope we can find ways to think constructively about how you work and interact with each unique person.

Psycho-Education

I find that relevant, well-timed psycho-education within sessions can sometimes be helpful in supervision and to clients. We will explore your use of these sorts of interventions and how you are experiencing this way of working at times.

An Online Setting

All supervision takes place online. I also work as an online therapist (I am ACTO registered and have a diploma in Online Therapy).

Keeping it current

I frequently attend trainings, conferences and read books about psychotherapy and my areas of interest, including supervision. I enjoy sharing aspects of what I’ve been learning with fellow therapists and supervisees.

Self care

Burning-out in the role and managing boundaries are important considerations for counsellors and therapists, particularly if you work in environments where you are struggling to manage self care or when working with trauma survivors or more complex mental health. I aim to supportively help you recognise and respond to signs that you might be heading towards burn-out, so you can more effectively get to a good enough work-life balance.

Being a client too

I’ve had many years of counselling and psychotherapy myself, so I have a felt level of understanding and empathy of what it can be like to be the client.

Celebrating Growth and Transformation

In supervision we want to both celebrate clients' changing process and stay with those moments of stuckness and difficulty.

My first session

The first supervision will involve us contracting together and developing the framework for a good working alliance. This is a time to talk about what you are looking for from supervision and to support you with developing the right sort of support for your practice.
