About me and my therapy practice
Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ
Life can be very challenging at times full of ups and downs. We can get stuck and overwhelmed in certain situations and this is when psychotherapy and counselling can help.
For many years I have worked in the City of London in a corporate and high pressured environment, I have an understanding of how the challenges of working in the City can sometimes trigger addictive behaviors, anxiety or depression.
I see therapy as a collaborative, supportive working relationship. My aim is to provide you with a unique space to make sense of what is going on in your life and the way you are feeling, enabling you to confront your anxieties and negative thoughts and to make decisions about how to live life and deal with life problems in your own way.
I provide a warm, non-judgmental and supportive environment allowing room to look in depth at your needs, life difficulties and look towards taking the necessary steps needed for the healing of emotional, mental and existential dis-ease. We explore the possibilities and choices available to you, and seek a way to live life more fully. We will work together looking at ways in how you can move towards change and transformation.
Practice description
My clinical approach is integrative which means I draw upon different types of therapies, I take the view that there is no single approach that can treat you in all situations, there are many ways in which the human mind can be explored and understood and no one theory alone holds the answer. I'm also drawn and find existential and Somatic psychotherapy very helpful and useful way to look at the way we live our lives. Whilst the importance of past events, and relationship patterns or dynamics are integral to the person you are today, it is how you come to clarify and understand those events from the perspective of the present that will enable you to move forward.Existential psychotherapy encourages a philosophical enquiry into life experience and relationships; it is a practical and relational approach which involves working with your real lived experience rather than interpretations based on theories and models of the mind. We are invited to consider our values, and what really matters to us, to examine our lives, and inspire us to live courageously, responsibly, and with authenticity. I will also offer a space where we can bring and explore our somatic awareness, I'm a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner currently in training, due to start my second year of the three year training programme.
