About me and my therapy practice

If it feels as though everything is getting too much, that your mind just cannot focus or slow down, or that there is something you want to talk through, therapy may be for you.  Being in a confidential, empathic and non-judgemental environment with a trained professional listening and providing support can help you start to lead a more fulfilling life.  Building a trusting therapeutic relationship with me, and through in-depth exploration enables you to understand yourself, yourself with others and to gain new insights and awareness, ideas and choices.

My name is Lorna, I am a qualified and experienced therapist and have worked with many varied presenting issues within the NHS, in prisons, a psychiatric hospital, the council, a charity and private practice over the last 14 years.

Together we can discuss your concerns and explore what is happening for you now.  As every person is unique, every way of working is too, so I tailor therapy to the needs of the individual.

Your wellbeing is my concern.  You have made the first crucial step in looking for someone to help and support you.  I provide short and long term, face-to-face and online counselling and psychotherapy in SW London.

Contact me so that we can set up a convenient time for a free initial phone consultation to see how we can work together, for your future wellbeing.

My first session

Initial contact:

I offer a free introductory phone call for up to 15 minutes.  This is a time for you to ask any questions about counselling and to see if you would like to arrange a further consultation session.

Consultation:

The consultation session is 50 minutes and we can discuss what brings you to seek counselling.

This is a chance to see if you feel if you would like to continue further sessions with me, for me to gather detailed information from you and for you to ask any further questions about the way we may work together.  It is also to discuss confidentiality, to arrange the time of the sessions, how long we may work together for, fees, cancellation policy etc.

Sessions:

If we agree to work together, further sessions are 50 minutes in duration, at the same time and on the same day each week as agreed.

The sessions will depend on your presenting issues and what you are wanting from our time together.

I offer short-term or open-ended therapy.
