About me and my therapy practice
Hello, and a warm welcome to you.
My name is Gabriele, though you can call me Gabi. What’s your name?
Are you feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed? Perhaps you're dealing with major life transitions like a separation, a divorce, or the loss of someone close. The reasons people seek counseling are as unique and varied as their experiences, and I wonder what may have led you here today.
Maybe you're feeling stuck in a cycle of anxious thoughts, frustrated by a career challenge, or hurt by a loved one's words. Perhaps you're overwhelmed by significant changes—moving, graduating, or ending a relationship. You may be struggling to manage these feelings on your own or find it hard to talk to friends and family without fear of being a burden. Sometimes, these emotions even show up physically, with symptoms like a dry throat, shortness of breath, or a racing heart.
Whatever your reasons for seeking support, I am here to help. My therapy practice offers a compassionate, non-judgmental, and confidential space to explore what’s on your mind. Together, we can make sense of what you’re going through, build effective tools to manage your thoughts and emotions, and foster resilience and confidence in a way that fits you best.
Reaching out for help can be daunting, but by being here, you've already shown strength. To help you feel comfortable, I offer a short, free consultation before your first appointment. This is your chance to share your hopes, ask questions, and see if I might be the right fit for you.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out using the contact details provided. I look forward to hearing from you and beginning this journey together.
Practice description
Welcome to my practice, a safe and supportive space for those seeking professional counseling and psychotherapy tailored to their unique experiences and needs. I am a trauma-informed practitioner, working with adolescents and adults in a confidential and culturally responsive environment. Located in the peaceful town of Nailsworth, my practice operates from a room within the Quaker Meeting House, where clients can experience a therapeutic space that emphasizes acceptance, trust, and non-judgment.
In my work, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, blending techniques to fit each client’s individual journey. I believe strongly in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and am committed to fostering a warm, empathic environment where clients feel respected and heard.
My qualifications and experience include specialized training in trauma-informed care, family work, bereavement and grief counseling, and integrative counseling, supported by my education from institutions such as the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. I am also a certified BWRT (BrainWorking Recursive Therapy) practitioner, equipping me to address a broad spectrum of challenges.
With a flexible approach to meeting clients’ needs, I am available for both in-person sessions at my Nailsworth location, where parking is accessible, and online sessions for those who prefer remote support. Alongside my private practice, I also counsel at Minchinhampton Surgery, allowing me to engage with a diverse array of client concerns.
Whether you are navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, work stress, depression, grief, trauma symptoms, or simply feel that something is amiss in your life, I welcome you to take the next step on your journey toward healing.
My first session
Starting therapy can feel daunting, and it takes courage to take that first step. Our first session will serve as an assessment, giving you the opportunity to openly discuss what has brought you here, the challenges you’re facing, and what you hope to achieve from counseling.
During this session, we’ll also go over the therapeutic contract, which outlines the foundation of our work together. This contract sets mutual expectations, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for your growth and healing. There’s no pressure to make any long-term commitment right away; you’re welcome to decide if continuing with therapy feels right for you.
This first session is designed to be a space where you can start to feel comfortable and supported in taking this next step on your journey.
