About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Sally and I am an experienced Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ registered counsellor and work in my Private Practice called Chiltern Therapy which is based in Amersham.

My area of work includes emotional difficulties, sexual, emotional and physical abuse, trauma, substance misuse, self-harm, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, bereavement, loss, PTSD, social and general anxiety, low self-esteem, bullying and depression.

Suffering from emotional or psychological difficulties can feel overwhelming and is often debilitating. Life can be complicated and cruel and can feel hopeless, confusing and out of control. There are times when life can just become too much and the smallest things can get to you.

You don’t have to struggle alone. Through counselling I can offer you space and time where we can explore and process your feelings and emotions, anxieties and difficulties. This will enable you to better understand yourself, your current situation or relationship, and build more self-awareness and confidence to make positive changes to your life and better choices for your future.

Practice description

I understand the prospect of counselling can seem daunting, however talking to a counsellor is the first step towards change. Counselling offers a means to greater personal understanding, acceptance and potential ways forward.

I am passionate about mental health and well-being and am committed to making a difference to my clients’ lives. I strongly believe that working within a supportive therapeutic relationship can facilitate growth and positive change, leading to an increased feeling of overall wellness and life satisfaction.

I offer short term or long term face to face counselling and online counselling. I facilitate client change, empowerment and personal goal attainment by working in a way that helps you to develop the confidence needed to bring about long lasting, positive change by working from a Person-Centred base.

I believe all individuals are unique and therefore I shape and tailor the counselling to suit your needs using the skills and techniques that are most effective for you.

I am a genuine, caring and empathic Therapist who is committed to help improve mental health and well-being by offering a relaxed, non-judgemental, confidential space where your feelings and emotions can be safely shared and explored.

My first session

It is common to feel worried or unsure about what to expect from therapy. During your first session I will explain how I work, the type of therapy I offer and I will go through our working agreement which covers confidentiality and privacy policy.

I understand you may have a huge mix of emotions around your first session. This is normal.

You can ask me anything you want to know about my qualifications and experience and anything at all you don't understand.

It is vitally important I am the right counsellor for you.

Your first counselling session marks the start of your journey - a journey that will ultimately lead you to yourself - to a deeper, richer, more secure, more grounded relationship with yourself. It is the first step on your path to overcoming the problems that you've been struggling with.
