About me and my therapy practice
I offer one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy in a quiet, warm and safe environment; I can provide a space for you to explore deep feelings you may not otherwise feel able to express.
Working together we can provide a fresh perspective on your circumstances.
I can provide short, or long term therapy. Whatever we agree together that suits your needs and circumstance.
I graduated with Honours in Counselling and Psychotherapy Professional Practice from The University of Salford. My foundation is in person-centred therapy, I have also undertaken training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness and we can incorporate these approaches if required and with prior agreement with you.
I consider you the expert on you. I know it is possible to lose ourselves in life. Lose who we are, what we enjoy, what makes us laugh or brings us joy. Reconnecting with ourselves by talking our feelings through with a "stranger" in a safe and professional way can restore our self-esteem, can help to alleviate anxiety, and can support us in understanding anger.
For over 25 years I held a position of responsibility in a busy city centre office. My career was beginning to take its toll on my health and well-being, I was losing me. I made the decision to pursue a more rewarding career better suited to my personality: my own next chapter. I have been through therapy to explore my own experiences. I have been there.
Practice description
I appreciate that finding the right therapist for you can be daunting, I will give you the opportunity to share your feelings without judgement or prejudice, but with kindness, compassion and acceptance.
My practice is in a busy Town Center location with ample parking and bus route accessibility. I am located inside Tyldesley House at 240 Elliott Street M29 8DS.
** Please note my practice is located on the first floor with no lift or wheelchair access **
** I have added Zoom sessions to my diary for those who require or prefer **
My first session
I consider the relationship between therapist and client a key factor in successful therapy. I believe it is important that you feel able to share your thoughts and feelings with me openly and honestly.
With this in mind our first session is a no obligation 50 minute Initial Consultation. These first sessions allow us to meet, and for you to ensure you feel comfortable with us working together.
In this initial session I will also explain a little more about therapy and how I work, you will have opportunity to ask any questions you may have. At the end of the consultation if you feel ready we can book you for further sessions at a time and frequency that is suitable.
