About me and my therapy practice

The relationship between myself and my client is an important part of the way I work. I want you to feel safe and relaxed in your session, and with this comes your trust to work through your worries in a deeper and more honest way. You are at the centre of the work always.

People I have worked with in the past have experienced positive changes in their lives.

I have diverse therapeutic experience which allows me to work with many different counselling needs. I use an integrative approach which means I will find the best way to work with you so that you get the most out of your counselling experience.

Working with children and adolescents, I work in a creative, task orientated way and always at their own pace.

Where I work

I work from a private and calm space in my garden room. I am in central Sevenoaks. There is free parking available outside and I am a 15 minute walk from Sevenoaks station.

Please feel free to contact me by phone or email to have a free initial conversation about what it is that you would like from your counselling sessions.

Practice description

life is difficult right now and you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or in need of support I am able to help.

The decision to have counselling can arise for a number of different reasons such as:

Anxiety

Relationship issues

Depression or low mood

Bereavement

Loss (such as: separation, divorce, children leaving home, redundancy)

Coping with illness

Suicidal thoughts

Self-harm

Abuse (past or present)

Anger management

Feeling sad that ‘things just don’t feel right’.

Whatever your reason, I respect that the journey to decide to start therapy varies greatly and is unique to each individual. It can also be a daunting experience that I would like to make easier.

How counselling can help

I will offer a calm, safe and confidential space in which to unwind and unload your mind. I will listen to you, in a non-judgemental environment, allowing you to feel fully heard and understood. Together we will work through whatever you bring to the session to unlock and understand the issues and concerns that brought you to me.

The ultimate aim of this is to allow you the space, time and full attention that you need. Through this experience I hope that I will be able to help you find skills within yourself, and the confidence that will allow you to use them, to be able to manage your emotions and feelings to enhance your life.

How many sessions will be needed?

The number of sessions will vary dependent on your own needs and we can discuss this at your initial session to find out what your expectations and requirements are. You will not be expected to commit to a certain number of sessions. I work as comfortably in a short term solution-focused manner as I do in a long-term counselling relationship.
