About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Sharon and I specialise in ADHD, Anxiety and Trauma.
Do you often feel afraid or uncomfortable being you around others? Do you second-guess your words and worry about how people see you? Maybe you do things for others when you don't want to simply because you can't say no. Do you find yourself being hyper-vigilant and constantly adjusting your behaviour to 'fit in'? Are you always thinking the worst?
It can feel so overwhelming and exhausting to feel unsettled and have no control over your constant thoughts and feelings that you battle on a daily basis.
Whether anxiety, trauma, ADHD, or a mix of all three, understanding yourself and why you have these behaviours is key to changing them. Through talking and being listened to, we give ourselves th chance to change, to adapt and learn new skills to help you become who you want to be, instead of feeling stuck in a cycle where it's not okay to be yourself.
If any of this sounds familiar, know that you're not alone. I'm here to support you on your journey to becoming you.
We will work on developing new skills and strategies, and on building your confidence so that you no longer are held back by old thoughts and behaviours, allowing you to choose who you want to be instead of the thoughts and situation choosing it for you.
As someone who has experienced similar struggles, I would be honoured to join you on your journey, to help you explore and make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. I will listen, without judgement, and explore your words with gentle questioning. I will work with you in an open and empathetic way to set goals and bring peace, contentment, and happiness back into your life.
I offer online counselling via the platform of your choice for £80. I offer a free 15 minute telephone assessment.
Qualifications and training
CPCAB Counselling Skills Level 2
CPCAB Counselling Studies Level 3
CPCAB Diploma in Integrative Counselling Level 4
CPCAB Diploma Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Level 5
Practice description
My approach to therapy is always open and empathetic, and influenced by you and the belief that you know yourself better than any other person, which is why the sessions are led by how you want to work and at your own pace. My approach is often influenced by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), both being more of a directive approach. However, as always, throughout your journey we will discuss the different approaches, and it will be your decision to work in a way that feels right for you.
Counselling Style
Our sessions will always be led by you, this will be your space, to talk, to think and to be yourself. My aim is to support you in any way I can, to provide a safe space in an environment where you can talk openly and freely, a space that is non-judgemental, with no influences and no pressure.
Experience
I have worked in both my private practice and externally with charities and agencies, as a counsellor, for a number of years. My focus is on ADHD, Anxiety and Trauma and how having these have impacted on us emotionally throughout life, and how we have adapted our behaviours to manage the overwhelming feelings.
I have worked as both a one to one and a group counsellor, work face to face, online and via the telephone. I have been fortunate enough to meet some amazing people on my counselling journey all of whom has taught me something in one way or another. I update my training constantly which includes not only in depth and updated training, but also training on new and different counselling techniques. This allows me to be my best for each individual client, regardless of the issues they are facing.

Hello, my name is Sharon and I specialise in Anxiety and Trauma. Together, we can work on breaking free from old patterns of behaviour and thoughts that are holding you back.
Do you often feel afraid to be yourself around others? Are you constantly second-guessing what you say and worrying about how people see you? Maybe you find yourself doing things for others even when you don't want to, simply because you can't say no.
