About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor who has experience of counselling adults with a wide range of issues. I can help you explore your issues in an empathic, safe and supportive environment, bringing a deeper understanding of your situation.

I welcome clients who are experiencing any number of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, trauma, family issues, self-harm, PTSD or relationship concerns. I have experience of both open ended and time-limited therapy and use an integrative approach (I use a range of therapeutic techniques and tools) to support you.

I work with clients privately and I also specialise within the NHS as an Early Trauma Crisis Intervention counsellor, working with people who have experienced sexual assault.

In addition to this, I am a qualified Narrative Exposure Therapist. Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) is a treatment for survivors of multiple traumatic events who are suffering from the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The basic theory behind Narrative Exposure Therapy is that by talking through, and processing in detail, traumatic events in chronological order, you can slowly and methodically repair negative associations and responses, allowing you to live without the constant effects of trauma.

I am aware that an important part of this process is the relationship between you and I. For my part, I will commit to being open, honest and supportive and to bring anything I can offer, during what can be both a challenging and enlightening process. For you, I hope you find a connection that will help you to move forward in life as you wish to.
