About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced and compassionate Psychotherapist and Counsellor with over 15,000 hours of experience. I offer Psychodynamic Counselling and Transactional Analysis Therapy online. While many of my clients are Doctors and Students, my clients do come from all walks of life.
If you are struggling in relationships, including the quality of your relationship with yourself, for example, internal anger, shame or anxiety, I have long familiarity in helping with these challenges. If you are stuck in revolving experiences, suffering from short or long term traumatic experiences, or recovering from abuse in its many forms, I believe I can assist.
I was the Director and senior therapist at the Liverpool Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy from 1997 to 2018, managing a team of ten counsellors and therapists. Having passed the business on to new owners (the Liverpool Psychotherapy and Counselling Centre) in 2018, I have been working online for the last three years.
The way I work is to tailor sessions and my therapeutic approach to your individual needs; I do not adhere to a 'one size fits all' philosophy.
I am always happy to answer questions about the sometimes-bewildering array of training and qualifications that counsellors have, with no obligation to use my services.
You can contact me through my website or call my office, which will ensure you receive a call back from me.
'A great place that has helped me immensely. Friendly and never feel rushed. Wide range of appointment times which helps with juggling working hours. Big thanks to Peter'.

Google 5* - Review from my time as director of the Liverpool Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Practice description
Having worked within and managed a team of therapists for twenty-one years, I now am a solo practitioner working online from my detached office, separate from my home, so confidentiality is maintained. I am always happy to discuss what treatment options are best for you. I can be flexible to accommodate clients who have busy lives, varying commitments (I specialise in treating Doctors and am used to working around their shifts), or live abroad.
Throughout my time as a psychotherapist and counsellor, I have worked hard to understand people from a real perspective, not just from a textbook one. I don't believe I can help someone without first really tuning in to who they are, properly listening to what they have to say, and understanding how they see themselves and their world.
In my time as the Director of the Liverpool Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I developed it from a single room practice into one of the most successful private counselling and psychotherapy services on Merseyside. I still adhere to this philosophy of professionalism, integrity and client-focused service that made us so in demand.
I am a Member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ, Number 376754 and adhere to their code of professional ethics.
Visit my website for more background on how I work and my Therapy Blog, including Five Things to Look for in an Online Therapist.

There is no obligation to book a minimum number of sessions, and I do not 'send people away with a pamphlet'; I will always try to work with you to achieve a positive direction from our first talk.
