About me and my therapy practice
Hi,
My name is Simon and I work as a Psychotherapist in Private Practice in London. I can offer therapy online or face to face at my office in Hammersmith on a short term or long-term basis depending on your goals.
Clients who come to me for help usually have high levels of anxiety or depression and find themselves in repeating patterns within their relationships or at work that make them unhappy. I would offer you a safe, containing space where you could talk about and explore anything that’s difficult or overwhelming.
We all have emotional needs and problems often arise when those needs are unmet. I would carefully explore which of your emotional needs were unmet during your childhood and possibly in your present life. I would help you process any difficult feelings you may regularly experience whether that be overwhelming fear, persistent sadness, crushing pain, paralysing grief or problematic anger or rage. Once these feelings are accepted and integrated, healing can take place and your life can flow again.
I trained as an integrative therapist and hold two diplomas in Counselling. This included training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Person-centred Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I have also trained in Group Psychotherapy and Narrative Therapy for Addiction Treatment. I worked within a clinical team for 6 years delivering individual therapy as well as co-facilitating a number Psychotherapy groups helping clients with attachment issues, anger management and addictions.
Research indicates that the best predictor of therapeutic change is the strength of the therapeutic relationship. Everyone is different and has life experiences that are unique. I will work with you in a collaborative way so that you can feel enough safety and trust to talk about things that you may never have been able to previously.
Practice description
My practice is based at The Foundry, 77 Fulham Palace Road. A wonderfully modern building just a stones throw from Hammersmith Station with easy transport links to the rest of London.
My first session
Before your first session I will offer a free 10 minute telephone consultation to discuss what you would like help with and answer any questions you may have. If you feel that we could work well together we can then set up the first session.
During the first session I will explore with you why you are seeking therapy and what goals you would like us to work towards.
I will ask you questions relating to your childhood, past experiences and significant relationships. Above everything I will offer a warm and containing space for you to tell me anything you need to and suggest a treatment plan to help you achieve your goals.
