About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am an experienced Humanistic Counsellor working in both Hove and Worthing offering one-on-one counselling to adults. I offer a confidential, compassionate and supportive setting, where we can work together at your pace to help you make sense of the challenges you may be facing in your life.
Realising that you need to talk to someone can feel scary, but reaching out for support is a brave and important first step towards change. Perhaps you are struggling with a particular problem, issue or relationship. Perhaps you feel stuck repeating an unhelpful pattern that you want to change. Perhaps there is something from your past that you would like to come to terms with. In all of these situations, counselling provides a private, safe and dedicated space for making sense of things and exploring options for moving forward.
My style of working is collaborative, respectful and tailored to you as a unique individual. During sessions, we can work together to reflect on and examine your experiences of yourself, others and the world around you. I will help you explore the issues you are facing and support you to gain clarity and insight into what’s going on and the relationship between your experiences and the way you feel, think and behave.
I have experience of working with adults facing a broad range of issues including; depression, low-mood, low self-esteem, self-harm, addiction, anger, loss and relationship difficulties. I am particularly experienced and also passionate about supporting people struggling with anxiety, worry and panic.
In addition to my current private practice, in the past I have volunteered for an organisation providing low-cost counselling to the Brighton community and have also volunteered for Breakeven, a charity providing counselling for gambling addictions as well as for those affected in relationships with problem gamblers.
My first session
I offer an initial introductory / exploratory 50minute session for a reduced fee of £25. This session is offered with no obligations, rather as an opportunity for us to meet, explore your needs from counselling, discuss how we might work together in sessions and so that you can decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
