About me and my therapy practice

Welcome. I am a gestalt psychotherapist and I can help you to discover the changes you want in your life so that you can live it in a more fulfilling way.

I offer individual counselling and psychotherapy, whether short-term or more open-ended, for adults in the Eastbourne area, and online via Zoom and over the phone.

As a gestalt therapist, I believe we are each unique in the way we experience and see the world, and I see the relationship between the client and therapist as central to therapy.

Gestalt therapy focuses on helping you become more aware of your relational patterns - patterns that may be impacting your life in distressing ways - so that you can loosen their hold and discover alternative and more conscious ways of being.

Together we can create a safe therapeutic space that fits your unique needs, challenges and concerns, and that values and respects your individuality so that you can discover your capacity to create the change and growth you want in your life through deeper self-awareness and then, if you wish, through experimentation and self-expression.

My previous counselling experience is with a community counselling charity and a bereavement charity. I’ve also worked in education for many years, both teaching and researching, as well as in the private sector in publishing.

I hold an MSc in Psychotherapy and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Humanistic Counselling from the University of Brighton. I am a registered member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and ACTO (Association of Counselling & Therapy Online) and work in accordance with their ethical frameworks.

Feel free to get in touch to arrange an initial, no obligation session where we can discuss your needs and get a sense of whether you’d like to meet more regularly.

My first session

Initial sessions are offered at a reduced rate of £30.

During this session we'll talk about what brings you to therapy and what your hopes are for change in your life.

You can ask me how I would work with you if you came for more sessions and get a sense of what I'm like - research shows therapy is most effective when you feel you can trust and feel safe with your therapist, so it's important for you to see how you feel about me.

I'll ask you for some information about yourself and then we'll put it all together and think about what you need and how we can best work together, which will include how long you might come for therapy. You can then decide either in the session or after going away and thinking for a little while if you'd like to come to me for therapy.
