About me and my therapy practice

Life events and experiences can sometimes create pain, confusion and sadness in our lives which can feel unbearable, leading to us struggling in our everyday lives. Sharing what troubles you, in a professional, safe and confidential setting, is a positive step towards improving your life. This could be something that is a new issue, or challenges that have bothered you for most of your life. As a counsellor, my role is to help you explore any thoughts, feelings or behaviours that are impacting you and your life; and to support you to make positive changes to work through these difficulties, in a way that suits you.

My integrative training and clinical experience enables me to work with adults and young people (15+) within a safe and ethical framework. This is in line with the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ governing body and my accredited training.

Working as a Specialist Mentor, I can also work in a more directive way. Together we can identify goals and areas of your life you want to improve or change. My role is to help you identify any barriers that stop you from achieving your goals; establishing management strategies and developing skills to support you to make the changes you want in your life.

Practice description

I am a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist, my training enables me to tailor an approach that fits each individual, for every person this is different. So I will take the time to develop a working relationship with you that is supportive in a way that suits you.

My roles as both, a Therapist and a Specialist Mentor, enable me to work in different ways, sometimes you may want one specific approach, but I can also offer a dualistic approach that incorporates both approaches.

Ultimately, the best way to tell if I am the right therapist for you is to meet with me and see if you feel I am a good fit for you.

"We are all in this together and there is no therapist and no person immune to the inherent tragedies of existence." - Yalom

My first session

On our very first session, I will hold an assessment.  It is normal to be nervous about this and to not know exactly what to expect. Assessment sounds intimidating - but really this is just a guided chat, in which I explore your health, history, lifestyle and the issues that have led to you meeting with me.

The assessment gives you the opportunity to explore any questions about the counselling process you may have; and enables you to get an idea of who I am and how I will support you. Over the 50 minute session, we will explore your hopes and goals for counselling and together we can agree a way forward the suits you.

Attending an assessment does not tie you in contractually, if you feel counselling is not for you by the end of the assessment, I will help you identify where you may be able to access other support.
