About me and my therapy practice

Based in central Winchester, I offer a calm, safe, confidential space where difficult issues can be explored. I work with adults, helping them to cope with problems such as stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship problems and bereavement. I am an experienced couples counsellor and work with a range of couples e.g. heterosexual, same-sex, people in family relationships, who are having difficulties with that relationship or want to explore their relationship before making important decisions that may impact the relationship.

Qualifications.

-Currently I am studying for a MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy.

- Foundation Degree in Humanistic Counselling based on Transactional Analysis (Distinction).

-Transactional Analysis 101.

-B.A. French (Hons).

Agency Work.

I have worked in a local counselling agency and a university counselling service.

FAQ:

How long will the counselling session last?

-The initial session lasts 1 hour. Subsequent sessions last 50 minutes for individuals and 90 minutes for couples.

How long will the entire counselling process last?

-The answer to that varies for individuals; it depends on what you want to achieve during the therapy. We will review our work together at regular intervals.

For couples, there are, initially, eight sessions which will take place fortnightly. I shall send out more information about the process when you contact me.

Where exactly is your counselling room?

When we agree on a date and time to meet, I shall provide further details of the location of my therapy room.

My first session

The first session is a chance for us to see if we feel able to work together. It is important for you to choose a therapist with whom you feel able to explore difficult issues. There is no obligation to continue sessions or to decide at the end of the first session if you want to continue the work. Taking time to think and to consider your feelings about the initial session is an important part of the process.
