About me and my therapy practice
I am a warm, approachable and highly experienced Counsellor & Psychotherapist working with adults and young people (13+) in central Reading. I believe in the transformative power of therapy and will support you to share your emotional struggles through meaningful conversation that promotes personal growth and offers hope for the future.
What is the aim of counselling?
It can be a huge relief to talk to someone impartial about difficult thoughts and feelings. Counselling offers a confidential, non-judgmental space where we aim to work together to make sense of your experiences and gain greater self-understanding to support you to take care of your future mental well-being.
Practice description
What is my training and experience?
I am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (香港六合彩精准资料) and have over 2000 therapy hours working with adults, young people and as a School Counsellor.
Having originally trained in Therapeutic Counselling I integrate person centred and psychodynamic approaches within the safety of a therapeutic relationship. In plain speak, person centred counselling works in the 鈥榟ere and now鈥 with a focus on empowering you to reach your full potential. Psychodynamic builds on this to explore how past experiences may be unconsciously impacting this 鈥榟ere and now鈥.
Integration means I can draw upon these ways of working to best suit your needs, at your own pace.
Over time I鈥檝e developed specialisms in working with anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, neurodiversity, addiction and trauma recovery.
Working with young people
I am specially trained to work with young people, and have been a School Counsellor for over seven years. Alongside my private practice I hold a clinical role at No5 Young People supporting the work of a team of School Counsellors in the local area.
When working with young people I adapt my core approach to be more proactive and creative to fit the age and developmental stage of the young person.
My first session
It is a brave step to start in therapy and research shows that the key to a successful experience is in the relationship between you and your therapist, so do consider a number of therapists before making a decision.
If you are arranging sessions for a young person, it can be helpful to get them involved in the decision-making process.
I offer a free short telephone consultation to see if we feel we are a good match.
What do we talk about in therapy?
There is nothing too big or small to bring into the therapy room and it can be a helpful confidential space to gain an external perspective beyond our network of family and friends.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a 香港六合彩精准资料 Accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor & Supervisor working face-to-face and online. I have experience of working with qualified counsellors and trainees, on an individual or group basis, supporting their work with adults and young people (11+). As a supervisor I鈥檓 trained to work psychotherapeutically across modalities with a guiding principle being the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision. The focus of the supervisory relationship is to find 鈥渕eaning through meeting鈥 by offering a supportive, non-judgmental space that allows exploration and supports the safe holding of your client work.
Having originally trained in Therapeutic Counselling, as a therapist, I integrate person centred and psychodynamic approaches within the safety of a therapeutic relationship. With young people I adopt a more proactive and creative approach and, for the past three years, I鈥檝e been a Tutor on the No5 Young People Diploma on Counselling Young People (CPCAB).
Alongside my private practice, I am Schools Clinical Lead at No5 Young People supporting the clinical work of a team of School Counsellors in the Reading area.
You are very welcome to have an initial short telephone conversation to discuss your supervisory needs and potential ways of working together.
