I work a variety of hours during the week offering face to face sessions at my practice in Sileby or videocall/telephone sessions which I mostly do from my home office.
Saturday mornings are face to face appointments only.
For those who are short on time, finances or feel that 50 minutes is too long, I offer mini telephone appointments. These are 30 minutes long. An initial assessment would be needed to check the suitability of a mini session.
I offer bespoke dog therapy sessions for those wishing to overcome fears of dogs, easing anxious feelings and building confidence.
Studies show that contact with dogs can help humans reduce stress, anxiety and depression. They can ease the feeling of loneliness, add joy and offer unconditional love.
About me and my therapy practice
Hello and thankyou for taking the time to read about my services and how I can support you or your loved ones. I understand it’s not easy choosing a therapist.
Why counselling?
There are many reasons for entering into counselling but there is no problem too big or too small. Every worry or concern is valued and treated with confidentiality and respect. I understand this step can be daunting but it is a positive step that you are ready to think about the issues that you are battling with. Whatever is on your mind, I am committed to providing you with emotional support when you need it the most. It is a time to reflect, explore and gently challenge painful thoughts. Importantly, it is a time for you. A chance to be heard and understood. Recognising you and your needs in a world that can feel stressful and lonely.
You don't need to go through this alone.
What is counselling?
Gently, we can work through the issues that are holding you back, allowing clarity and the opportunity for you to move forward in your life. We will talk, explore and reflect on your thoughts and feelings, making positive life choices and finding peace with self.
Practice description
My private practice is a lovely cosy room, just off the High street in Sileby. It is a very private space which enables clients to talk freely and comfortably.
There is a large free carpark in the village and some lovely cafes if you wanted to stop before or after a session for a drink/something to eat.
I recognise that life can be busy and demanding at times therefore, I offer my clients flexibility if they need to change any sessions or switch to a different method if they are struggling to attend a face to face appointment for example.
A little about me…
I have 9 years experience working in schools with young people and families meeting children’s academic and emotional needs. I worked with external professionals communicating, creating plans and resolving issues.
I have several years volunteering at a wonderful charity called Coping with cancer. Here I offered counselling sessions to individuals, supporting them with their cancer diagnosis and the impact this had on their life.
Family members were also welcome to their own sessions if they needed space to come to terms with a loved ones illness.
I spent 2 years at The Leicester counselling centre meeting an array of clients and working with some lovely therapists and staff.
I began my own private practice in 2018

Clients tell me that I am a kind and friendly therapist. Someone who is patient and has the ability to help clients see a new perspective and move forward.
During ending sessions clients have reflected how much they have grown through the process, finding clarity and confidence. They valued the support and understanding and felt much more equipped to manage life’s obstacles.
As a therapist I am grateful for my clients and recognise that I learn just a much from them as they learn from me.
My first session
The very first time we meet will be for an initial assessment appointment which lasts for around 45 minutes. In this session we have the opportunity to discuss:
• Why you would like therapy?
We will explore if the issues are past events, present challenges or future worries. It may be all of these and that’s ok.
• What you would like to achieve in therapy?
What your expectations are and what you would like the leave therapy with.
• We will gather information or details about yourself that you think is important in therapy.
This could include significant events that have shaped your life, key figures and role models that have impacted you.
• Any questions about therapy or the process?
You have the freedom to ask any questions that you wish. I understand there are lots of different types of therapy/ therapists and this can be confusing!
If you’re particularly worried about anything therapy related or reluctant to certain styles we can discuss this and tailor your sessions so that your sessions are effective and meeting your needs.
