About me and my therapy practice
Hello. I am a counsellor to individuals and couples, and I can meet with clients in Brighton, London Bridge or online.
I provide a safe and confidential space where you can express your thoughts and feelings. Through understanding our inner world we can develop a more compassionate relationship with ourselves, and therefore also with others. The aim is that you can gain self awareness so you can make conscious choices and bring about lasting change in ways that are suited to you.
We will look at what is bringing you to therapy and the issues you are struggling with. It could be anxiety, depression, a bereavement which you are struggling to process, relationship issues, an unresolved trauma or struggles with self esteem and self worth. I work with couples who are wanting to look at aspects of their relationship. I also offer parental support, either to a parent who may be struggling with their new identity as a mother or father, or parental issues in general which are affecting the family dynamic.
My working method is based on the Psychosynthesis model, an integrative approach to healing, growth and transformation. I acknowledge the body, feelings and mind, combining different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs of the individual.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling from the Psychosynthesis Trust in London. I run my private practice and have also worked as a counsellor in the NHS providing short-term therapy.
Practice description
After you have contacted me, I offer a 15 minute free phone call so we can talk through what is bringing you to therapy now and you can get an idea of how we will work together.
If you decide to go ahead we will organise our first session in person or online.
I meet clients for 50 minute weekly counselling sessions.
Therapy may be short term or long term. I usually suggest a commitment of 6 sessions in order to give the counselling process the opportunity to develop. We will then review how it is going and decide to continue open-ended or for a fixed number of sessions.
