About me and my therapy practice

Do you feel overwhelmed, anxious, sad, or isolated? Are your feelings affecting your ability to cope? If you need support working through current feelings or past issues, you are welcome to get in touch.

My Approach

There are moments in all our lives when we need some help. As an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor, I offer safe and caring support through talking therapy.

Pressures of life, responsibility, change, loss and unresolved past experience can all impact how we feel. When our personal resources are stretched, even a little extra stress may be overwhelming.

I offer:

• A confidential space where you can feel heard

• A safe place to focus on your concerns

• Support and compassion in understanding your individual needs

• Help with issues including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, relationships, loss and trauma

My approach is Integrative. This mean that I draw on and combine several therapeutic theories, according to the needs of each individual. These include Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Transactional Analysis therapies.

The way I work is very much in response to the needs of each individual person. In this way I offer support and work alongside you, to explore and understand past and present experiences and feelings, so that you can move forward.

Counselling Experience

I work with adults in my private practice. I also have experience of working with parents at a family support centre, with young adults and teenagers in a young people’s charity and as a school counsellor.

Other Experience

I worked in education for many years, both with children in schools and in a professional body working with adults. I have knowledge and experience of the pressures of working in professional, self-employed and education settings.

Practice description

I offer psychotherapeutic counselling sessions for individual adults and young people from age 18.

These sessions can be shorter or longer term  according to individual needs.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and are available in person, via Zoom or by telephone.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for you to talk about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to get from it.  It's also a chance for you to experience a session, get a sense of how I work, and see whether this feels right for you.

Sessions can be arranged by email or we can speak on the telephone to book.  Either way, you are welcome to ask any questions and talk about what you need help with before booking.

If you would like to find out more, book a session or arrange to speak on the phone first, please do get in touch.

I look forward to hearing from you.
