Hello and Welcome. My name is Katie Hendrick and I am a Counselling Psychologist specialising in working with clients who experience trauma. This can often be related to shock or changes in feelings of anxiety, anger or depression. For some people there is, for example, a clear awareness of an unresolved childhood trauma or abuse or an experience of overwhelming distress from unexpected life events like a bereavement that may impact on their working life, relationships, sleep pattern. Everyone is unique and if you are struggling, in pain, then the type of therapy work I offer may be of interest to you.

My first session
The first step is often the hardest step to make. Therefore, I offer a free initial introduction for 20 mins to meet remotely (zoom/skype) and to ask any questions.
If you would then like to proceed to an initial assessment appointment is offered at a reduced rate of 拢60. There is a registration form and questionnaire to complete prior to this appointment. At the first session, it is an opportunity to find out what has brought you to seek an appointment, explore background factors and identify goals for the therapy.

The first session is a chance to learn more about you, the client, and what brings you to this session. We can talk through your history and explore the suitability of the therapy modalities in meeting your individual needs. It is also a chance to get to know me, as a therapist, and to ask any questions.
I offer a reduced rate in the first session of 拢60 and provide a 34 item questionnaire on the morning of the appointment which helps identiy any areas of currrent difficulties. I provide a registration form to complete with a practice policy to keep regarding areas such as confidentiality and data protection.
