About me and my therapy practice
Face to Face and Online Counselling Available
Hello, my name is Sinead and welcome to my profile. I offer a free initial telephone consultation to talk through the issues that are affecting you and how I can help.
Maybe you are having relationship issues. We can often struggle with those closest to us. It is always useful to take time to reflect on how you relate to others and the impact they can have on you. Professional relationships can also be difficult to navigate at times. Talking to someone away from family and friends can help.
Suffering a loss or trauma can leave you feeling isolated and lonely. Perhaps you simply want to take charge of your life and make some changes to the way you think and behave with others?
This may bring up challenging questions too unsettling to think about on your own. Meeting together on a regular basis in the safety of my comfortable consulting rooms, we can attempt to confront your fears and find ways to approach life's obstacles in a manageable way, generating the potential for positive change. Why not call me and we can talk about how I might help you.
I enjoy working with couples and believe that everyone should have fulfilling relationships but know that they can go through rough patches at times. Feelings of the relationship being habit, feeling undervalued, unloved, misunderstood all lead to relationship breakdown. By giving couples a safe space, I aim provide a theraputic intervention to work through problems.
I have worked with children, young people and families since 2001 and am experienced practitioner providing interventions around family mediation, mentoring and Family Therapy. I have worked with the Child Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). I am an experienced advocate and mediator with both young people and adults and can offer support and advice around family dynamics
Practice description
Face to Face and Online Counselling Available
I specialise in Anger Management and have co-facilitated a research project at York St John University, developing tools and practical strategies for client use.
I am an Associate Member of Resolution, the Family Law Society promoting a constructive approach to family issues that considers the needs of the whole family. I can help adults, young people and coupes work through the issues that are affecting them.
I work closely with the LGBT community, providing a safe, non judgemental space for clients to explore both their sexuality and gender and place in the world.
Currently I am working in collaboration with specialist men's groups (Menfulness) to support the mental health of men and reduce the stigma around accessing support through counselling.
My first session
I offer a free, initial telephone consultation to talk through how I can help.
Following this, should you decide to book in, I will send out my Intake Form for you to complete. Our phone conversation and the feedback on your paperwork will form the basis of our first session together.
When we meet, I will work with you to help you feel safe in your counselling work. We can talk through your aims for counselling and how you would like the sessions to look. If you have had therapy previously, it can be useful to talk through what helped and what was unhelpful.

About me and my therapy practice

Individual Supervision for qualified therapist and students.
I offer face to face and online supervision. I am an Intergrative Humanistic therapist and work with counsellors with client groups including adults and young people.
Practice description
I have extensive experience in a variety of counselling settings and worked with a wide range of people of different ages, social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
My training is integrative which means that I draw upon a range of different therapeutic models but is essentially humanistic and existential.
I believe that supervision is a collaborative process involving observation, evaluation and self-assessment building on the strengths and talents of the supervisee. Supervision ensures that the supervisee works in a competent manner in which ethical standards and professional practice are used to promote and protect the welfare of the client and the supervisee.
Supervision is an opportunity for the therapist to reflect on their work, to become more aware of the therapeutic processes and relational dynamics, and to gain greater confidence in understanding the therapeutic relationship.
I offer sensitive, respectful and ethically aware supervision sessions, and I actively support your professional development.
I offer individual clinical supervision to qualified counsellors as well as those in training.
Supervision fees - £70 - 60 minutes, £100 - 90 minutes
My first session
After an initial telephone consultation I offer a first session of 30 minutes so we can talk through your supervision needs. This time also gives us the opportunity to ask questions and get to know if our relationship might be the right one for you.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to my profile.
I qualified as a counsellor in 2017 with a PG(Dip) Counselling from York St John University. I have been in private practice since 2018. I qualified as a counselling supervisor in 2021.
I work with adults, couples and children and young people from the age of 14 years old. As a supervisor I can support your work in each of these areas.
I offer face to face supervision from my practice in York or online supervision nationwide.
I welcome supervises who value collaboration in supervision. I work in a non - judgemental way and recognise supervision may be used for both personal and professional development. As counsellors we must be aware of our need to self care. To ensure we are in balance so we can best support our clients in an ethical and rewarding way.
Practice description
I work with supervises to meet their supervision requirements, as required by the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ. I also provide additional sessions, should we both feel the need for additional support, either short or long term.
I anticipate that we would talk about how we work together and what is needed or wanted from your supervision sessions. I am a humanistic-integrative therapist and supervisor, whose initial training was grounded in the person-centred. I am also trained in relationship therapy and my qualifications and experience in working with children and young people during my time with children’s services allows me to supervise those working in that field.
My first session
I offer an exploratory conversation initially either face-to-face or on the phone for anything up to half an hour, which would be free of charge. If we decided to go ahead and work together, then I would expect our first session to be a further opportunity for us to talk in depth about our expectations of the supervisory relationship as well as space to begin looking at work with clients.
My current fee for individual supervision is £60 per hour for qualified counsellors and £45 for trainees.
