About me and my therapy practice
Do you need to talk to someone about what is troubling you and to feel seen and heard for who you really are?
Do you desire to understand what prevents you from becoming who you want to be in your life and relationships?
Perhaps you feel emotionally unsupported or carry unprocessed feelings from past events?
Or maybe you have no idea of why you feel, behave and think the way you do?
It can be difficult to take the first step towards addressing what is concerning you and you may feel fearful about the process of counselling. I will offer you a safe, confidential and non- judgmental space to explore what has led you to seek counselling and to provide you with the space to tell your story at your own pace. As an integrative counsellor I work in a variety of ways tailored to suit you which can include creative work or a psycho-educational approach depending on your needs and wants. We can work together to access your inherent ability to grow and move forwards in a way that you have prescribed for yourself.
I am an experienced and compassionate counsellor with a post graduate diploma from the Wealden Institute of Psychology. My past experience includes working in a hospice setting as a bereavement counsellor. In addition, I worked for a counselling charity in East Sussex between 2016-2022. This has given me a wealth of experience and understanding of the diverse issues that clients bring to counselling whilst enabling me to fully understand that each person’s life story and way of seeing the world is unique.
I am also currently a tutor at Dunamis Therapy Hub which provides counselling training.
I am fully committed to ongoing learning and personal growth and I regularly attend CPD training and workshops
Practice description
My practice is based at a peaceful and pleasant room at Hawkhurst Osteopaths. Please note: There are a couple of short flights of stairs to the room and so unfortunately this location may not be suitable for people who have difficulty with this.
Each session, including the initial assessment, is 50 minutes and will take place at the same time each week. I recommend signing up for an initial six sessions which will give you a sense of how you are progressing. Occasionally 3 sessions may be more suitable to start with, and we can discuss this as part of your requirements during your initial assessment
My first session
Before our first session it will be beneficial to arrange a brief introductory phone call.
The first session will then take the form of an assessment which gives me a chance to get to know you and some of your background and reasons for coming to counselling. It also gives you the chance to decide if you would like to work with me.
Unlike a normal session it will require me to ask you questions and fill out paperwork whilst listening to your concerns.
I charge £30 for the initial assessment.
