Availability

My current working hours are Monday to Thursday from 9.15 am to 4.00 pm.  I also have some limited availability on Monday evenings from 5.30 pm to 8.00 pm.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist working in private practice with children, young people, adults and couples, on a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.

What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)?

CBT is a form of psychotherapy which is based on the theory that our thoughts, feelings, how we behave and how our body feels are all connected and that our thoughts and perceptions influence our behaviour. When we feel worried or distressed, we can fall into patterns of thinking and behaving which can worsen how we feel. CBT aims to help you identify these unhelpful thoughts, change the way you think (‘cognitive’) and change what you do (‘behaviour’).

CBT has a strong evidence base for a wide range of psychological problems including anxiety disorders, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Phobias, eating disorders and stress.

Practice description

What to Expect:

We will work together, collaboratively, to identify the goal(s) you wish to achieve and I will tailor the therapy, taking an integrative approach using various therapeutic models, to help support my psychological understanding of your presenting difficulties and to meet your individual needs.

Therapy can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, exploring, where appropriate, the past, present and the future, and I will aim to build a trusting, collaborative and empathic relationship to help facilitate and encourage you to achieve your goal(s). When working with children, I adopt a more creative approach to help them explore their own thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

My first session

In the first instance, we will arrange for a free telephone consultation to answer any questions you may have and for me to gain a brief understanding of the difficulties you are currently experiencing.

From this, should you wish to proceed, we will arrange for an Assessment Session which will last between 1-1.5 hours which will be charged at £65.  Ongoing sessions thereafter are for 50 minutes and are also charged at £65.
