About me and my therapy practice
If you are feeling overwhelmed, lost, anxious, or depressed, you might find that counselling can help. I can offer a safe and supportive therapeutic space in which we can explore the things which might be holding you back from living the life you want to live. Seeking help can be a big step, but rarely one that you will regret.
I have experience with many presentations: anxiety, depression, loss, trauma, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, eating disorders, and many others.
I can work with children, young people and adults. My experience is as follows:
Children and young people
I have worked as a Schools Counsellor in several Primary and Secondary schools in West Sussex for 12 years, but now also offer private work over the phone, zoom or facetime. I have found that children aged around 10 years and upwards can work well with me online, younger than that really needs to be face to face.
Adults
I have worked in a local University, through an Employee Assistance Programme, through insurance and in private practice with adults.
I have completed the 3 year Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy training, and can discuss whether treatment using this model - which is often more intense and directive - might be suitable.

Practice description
Hourly sessions are charged at £65 for daytime appointments and £70 after 6pm.
I can work long or short term, and usually suggest weekly meetings but fortnightly can also be useful. The foundations of my work are psychodynamic, and I draw from Attachment theory to help understand how relationship patterns emerge and grow.
I offer a kind, curious attitude which is challenging enough to promote growth but empathic enough to stay real and safe.
Working online has opened up new opportunities for therapy - it is now easier to access and presents more of a level playing field. We can all be in comfort while we work.
My first session
I can discuss the work with you initially for free in a phone call before a commitment is made.
We can discuss the presenting issue, and get an idea about how many counselling sessions might be necessary.
I will be curious about what brings you to therapy now, when and why your difficulties started and what a successful outcome will look like.
In the first therapy session we will formulate your treatment goals, and start to identify your current problems which are holding you back. I will ask about your family and cultural background, and will be interested in your history, as well as why you have decided to seek help now.
