About me and my therapy practice

I am a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ senior accredited and BPC registered counsellor and psychotherapist with over 28 years experience in working with individuals, couples and groups of all ages, sexual orientations and cultural backgrounds.

My training began in 1990, while working as a project worker in a residential setting for long-term alcohol/drug misusers. I then worked as a university staff and student counsellor, before moving onto the NHS where I gained extensive experience working as a psychotherapist and organizational consultant with both staff and patients in a variety of NHS settings. I am currently a visiting lecturer for a number of counselling and psychotherapy trainings.

I have an MSc in psychodynamic therapy with individuals and a Diploma in working with couples. I have also trained as a psychosexual therapist and clinical supervisor.

I am based in the Angel EC1 and Bishopsgate EC2 and dependent on your presenting issues/needs will draw on psychodynamic, cognitive, attachment, relational and humanistic theories and concepts, to provide either short-term counselling/therapy or longer-term in-depth psychotherapy.

Most of us, will at some point, and for various reasons, experience emotional and psychological challenges which can negatively impact upon and limit the quality of our lives.

In these situations counselling and psychotherapy can be of benefit in offering a space where you can talk openly about yourself and be listened to and understood in a way, that is perhaps difficult to find with, or ask of, partners, family and friends.

I offer a confidential, safe and reliable place for you to make sense of your current difficulties, and through the establishment of a trusting therapeutic relationship will help you to explore past formative experiences and future concerns, which may be impacting on your present-day choices/decisions, and in the ways that you form and maintain relationships with others and how you see, think and feel about yourself.

About me and my therapy practice

I have been providing supervision to qualified and trainee counsellors and therapists for many years, with a personal interest in the relationship between the clinical work and the workplace setting.

I have extensive experience in supervising clinical work that takes place in private practice, residential care, day programs, higher education, social services, prisons, primary care and hospitals and 12-Step treatment settings.

I also supervise practitioners who provide couples counselling, as well as, supervising the supervision of other supervisors.

My approach draws on psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, cognitive, attachment, relational and transpersonal theories and concepts, and pay particular attention to the parallel process and transference and countertransference phenomena.

My fees are between £50 and £60 for a 60 minute session.

If you are interested in knowing more about my supervision approach I would be happy to have an initial telephone discussion before booking in a first appointment.
