Availability

I work entirely remotely (either on Zoom, or the telephone, as you prefer), and offer sessions between 9am and 7pm, Monday to Friday.  I have some availability, currently, and due not have any time off planned.

While many people feel that only face-to-face therapy would work for them, in my experience, there is often much faster progress when working remotely:  because the client is able to be in his/her safe space, from the outset, rather than having to spend time growing comfortable in a space I have created.

About me and my therapy practice

I work entirely remotely:  either on the 'phone, or via Zoom - whichever you prefer.

While some people worry that therapy would work for them only if they see someone face-to-face, in my experience, progress is often much faster, when working remotely, as the client is able to be in his/her safe space, from the outset, rather than having to spend time growing accustomed to (and comfortable in) one of my making.

I have considerable experience of working with clients who are neurodiverse (whether or not they have received a formal diagnosis).  I encourage such clients to understand and embrace their difference, rather than feeling they have to mask, always - constantly playing thee role they believe the rest of the world expects of them.

I have also undertaken specific training to enable me to work with sex offenders, and those worried about their sexual thoughts and/or behaviours.  I will never condone, or collude, but I will work with you to ensure you do not cause harm to others.

Practice description

I have a masters degree in psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy, but also have a psychology degree, so like to have neuroscience inform my practice (and provide explanations of how/why thoughts, feelings and behaviours arise).

I cannot tell you what to do, but I can help you to explore situations, and give you the opportunity to consider what it is you want.

I cannot wave a magic wand, and change the past, or make it go away, but I can help you to process it differently, so that it can stay in the past, rather than casting a constant shadow over your present and future.

I will never judge you, but I may challenge some of your thoughts and beliefs, to help you look wider, and explore options to which you have previously been blinkered.

My first session

I will always have an informal initial discussion,  for which there is no charge, to enable both of us to decide if we feel we would be happy working together.  Should we not consider ourselves a suitable match, I will suggest colleagues who might be a better fot for your needs.

Availability

I work remotely (either on the 'phone, or via Zoom), Monday to Friday, with my earliest appointment at 9am and my latest, 7pm.

I currently have some availability, and no planned time-off.

About me and my therapy practice

I have been a psychodynamic psychotherapist for a number of years, but also have a psychology degree, and am keen to have my practice informed by developments in neuroscience, also.  I have now also completed my Level 6 supervision training, and am keen to share my experience.

I have considerable experience of working with neurodiverse clients (whether or not formally diagnosed), and have undertaken intensive additional training, to work with sexual offenders, and those concerned about their sexual behaviours.

Practice description

I work remotely:  but that enables me to work with supervisees anywhere in the UK.  It will be your choice as to whether we work on the telephone, or via Zoom:  and you will be able to have sessions from the comfort of your own space, and save travelling time.

I offer discounted sessions to trainees:  with the proviso that they pay it forward - by offering similar discounts to students, in due course.

My first session

I always have a brief introductory chat, before beginning work with a supervisee (so we can both decide is we feel comfortable and confident working with each other).  I we are in agreement, I then have a brief form which I ask to be completed, to give me a overview of the supervisee and the work in which they are involved.
