About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited psychotherapist and I meet and talk with people who, maybe like you, want to change how they feel. There may be something specific that you are aware of (depression, anxiety, bereavement), but often the specifics of the difficulty might not be apparent, but the unhappiness is. My work with my clients is about surfacing what's going and helping clients process their feelings to reach a happier, more settled place.

I have worked, amongst other subjects, with trauma, anxiety, sadness, stress, depression, trauma, family issues, relationship difficulties, life changes (bereavement, retirement, loss or change of job), sense of identity, bullying, abuse (violent, sexual, emotional), neglect in upbringing, dissatisfaction, and a feeling of being numbed, out of touch with one’s emotions. Often clients just feel there is something wrong, without knowing exactly what it is.

After a business career (I still do some work with companies and individuals in them), I have worked as a counsellor for MIND, EACS, and MCPS who are all charities providing therapy. I still do some work for mental health charities alongside my private practice.

Looking for help can be daunting. I would encourage you to maybe explore with a counsellor (call them, have a session) to see how it might feel for you, rather than try to make a decision about counselling without experiencing how it might feel for you. A bit like getting into a water, it can feel a bit daunting, but once in it can be feel life changing and lovely.

You are most welcome to contact me by e-mail or phone to explore psychotherapy and counselling and if I could be of help to you.

Practice description

I am an accredited member of the UKCP, an Accredited of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ and a certified member of The European Association of Pyshcotherapy.

My first session

I believe that a gradual process of us getting to know each other rather than you having to make a definite decision about working with me based upon just text is an important part of your finding a Psychotherapist. To that end I always talk to people who enquire initially on the phone, and should that feel right for both of us, suggest that you come for a session or two to see how it feels to be in a room with me. Whilst we each might have some questions, and you will have what brings you, there is no specific structure to such a session and a first session with me is about two humans meeting, seeing how they feel together.
