About me and my therapy practice
To offer you the best possible support, and to focus on your individual needs, I draw from a range of counselling approaches and techniques, in an open-minded and gentle way. I offer an intuitive, nourishing and warm therapeutic relationship.
My aim is to support you in finding more clarity and satisfaction in your life, and to work on obstacles and difficulties that might be preventing you from leading a meaningful and fulfilling life. You can talk at your own pace about whatever might be troubling you, any thoughts and feelings, and I will listen to you without judgement.
I have a professional background in supporting adults with learning difficulties and mental health issues. I have worked extensively with clients who have experienced abuse, trauma, post-traumatic stress, PTSD, domestic violence, bereavement and loss, relationship difficulties, and body issues.
I am LGBTQ+ allied and have a interest in working with people wanting to explore their sexuality and sexual and/or gender identities.
During the sessions, you may wish to explore specific issues such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, OCD, and addictions, or you may want to look at broader patterns in your life and understand yourself better.
Having lived in many different countries, I am sensitive to cultural diversity. I worked as a counsellor in Guatemala, with clients from a range of backgrounds. Please get in touch if you would be interested in French language counselling and I can provide you with more information in French.
I am trained in supporting people to integrate challenging experiences with mind-altering substances, so please feel free to let me know if this is something you'd like help with.
I am fully qualified, and am registered with the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ). I have a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling from the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC).
Practice description
At the moment I have a limited number of face-to-face sessions available in my practice.
I am also doing sessions via Microsoft Teams or via the phone.
You can opt for one of these for your weekly sessions, or pick and choose depending on your needs that particular week.
My first session
I think that it is important to have an initial consultation; for you to decide if I'm the right fit for you as a counsellor, and for me to make sure I am able to offer you the best support possible.
My initial sessions are the same cost and duration as any other of my sessions, i.e. £50 for 50 minutes.
During the initial consultation, I will ask you some questions as part of my assessment. These will include broad questions about what you are hoping to explore during therapy, and your family and medical background.
You will also have the opportunity to ask me any questions about the counselling process, or questions that relate to us working together.
