About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome. I'm Caroline Feldon, and if you need relationship counselling, couples counselling, family therapy, individual counselling, or sex therapy, then you've come to the right place. I'm an experienced relationship and psychosexual therapist who works in person from my therapy room in South Derbyshire. I also work via webcam and telephone, so that you can talk in confidence to me from a safe or comfortable space.
I work with adults of all ages, and am experienced in working with neurodivergent clients, including autistic, ADHD, PDA, and other ND folks. I work with all types of relationship in a supportive and non-judgemental way. LGBTQIA+, CNM, SW and Kink friendly.
I've been a counsellor and psychotherapist for over 10 years now, with an MA in Relationship Therapy and an MSc in Psychosexual Therapy. It can be scary to reach out to a therapist, but you've already taken the first step by reading this. I'm used to talking about difficult and embarrassing topics. Together we can work on them as a team. Get in touch for your free short introductory call via telephone or Zoom.
Practice description
Relationship therapy is also known as couples counselling, and can be done as part of a family or as an individual too. As partners, family members or individuals, you can talk confidentially in a safe space about any of your relationships, whether with each other, with other partners, work colleagues, family or friends. I will help you unravel issues, start to make sense of them, and help you to express painful feelings.
Psychosexual or Sex therapy is based on cognitive-behavioural techniques and involves talking therapy and home-based tasks.
In relationship therapy, I work with a wide range of problems, such as anxiety, stress, depression, loneliness, communication, rows and arguments, infidelity, separation, divorce, retirement, family dynamics, menopause and many others. In sex therapy I work with issues such as low libido, erection problems, premature or delayed ejaculation, vaginismus, painful sex, compulsive sexual behaviours and other sexual difficulties.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute introductory Zoom or telephone call during which you can discuss your issues briefly, get a feel for how I work and ask any questions you need to. Then you can decide whether to progress to therapy with me.
If you decide to progress to therapy, your first session will include a little bit of paperwork, which I complete in the session with you, and then we go into your issues in more detail. With couples counselling or family therapy, I may then offer some individual sessions to focus on how the relationship dynamics are for you as an individual. With sex therapy, we do a thorough assessment and a full sexual history take, which is very therapeutic in itself, and will often take 2-3 sessions with each partner.
Sessions are 55 minutes in an hour's slot. Sessions of 85 minutes in a 90-minute slot can be booked by prior arrangement.
