About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Sarah and thank you for taking time to read my profile.
I have been working as a counsellor for nearly 20 years and work privately, in the NHS and charity sector.
My particular passion is the health and wellbeing of women and families. With many years of nursing in the NHS, I can combine the physical, emotional and psychological aspects of my experience, to offer you a holistic and balanced approach to your wellbeing.
If you are at a stage in your life where you are grappling with the psychological effects of menopause, or have worries and concerns about pregnancy and birth, post-natal mental health, or infertility issues, please reach out and let’s have a conversation. I have worked in a licensed fertility centre and maternity services for almost 15 years, and as part of that work, have supported families who have experienced pregnancy and baby loss.
As a qualified couples counsellor, I can also work with you and your partner to explore any relationship challenges you may be facing currently. I do this work privately and as part of the NHS
Maybe your need is related to just feeling low mood, worry, or feeling anxious. Sometimes we cannot find the words to describe how we feel or share these emotions with others around us.
Counselling offers you a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space for you to explore how you feel and find ways to overcome concerns.
With me, you have access to someone who (through my NHS employment and accreditation with the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ), is dedicated to ensure I am compliant with the conditions of my registration, and provide you with an environment that you can trust.
Practice description
We will meet either on line using Zoom or in person. A counselling session lasts for 50 minutes. The cost of each session is £65.00
During our work together, I will support you in the best way I can using a variety of therapeutic interventions based on your need. These include, psychodynamic, CBT, Person Centred, existential and mindfulness work.
I encourage you to be curious, and know you are in safe and experienced hands
My first session
Our initial counselling session is for us to meet and for me to start to understand how I can best support you. At the end of the first session, I will summarise what we have discussed, and we can agree a way forward, we will define the boundaries of our work and confidentiality too.
Depending on the work we do together, this will inform the number of sessions that you will need. You may have a specific challenge that can be dealt with in a few sessions, or we may discover that longer term work will be more beneficial for you. we will work collaboratively to agree the right way forward for you.
