About me and my therapy practice
Mental health, Sex Therapy, & Trauma Therapy for couples/partners and individuals.
Hi! It's Jo. So, what are Sex Therapy and Trauma Therapy? (Check my website for more information)
Sex therapy is a type of talking therapy that helps couples and individuals address biological, psychological, or social issues that may be impacting sexual function and sexual satisfaction.
The goal of sex therapy is to help people move past physical and emotional challenges to have satisfying relationships and a pleasurable sex life.
Talking about sex and sexual health can feel challenging and embarrassing and stop you from getting the help you need. However, having a safe space to explore and work through these feelings can be the difference between everything staying the same and feeling dissatisfied or feeling more connected to yourself, your body, enhancing sexual pleasure and your relationships.
It's common to experience changes in sexual desire and satisfaction throughout life, but these changes can be distressing, and we often don't know where to go to get help. This is where I come in. There's no such thing as 'Too much information', and I'm used to talking about all things 'sex', but I'm mindful you might find it difficult, so we take it at your pace.
I work with couples/partners and individuals from all sexual orientations, gender identities and relationship preferences.
I'm not here to judge, and sex is approached positively.
Trauma Therapy
Trauma therapy is a type of psychotherapy that helps people process and cope with the emotional impact of traumatic events. When someone faces life-threatening, fear-inducing, or dangerous situations (such as natural disasters, sexual assault, or war), trauma therapy can be beneficial.
Trauma therapy helps you to process and recover from the psychological, emotional, and physical consequences of trauma and reduce the distress levels triggered by the thoughts, beliefs, images, sounds, and body sensations associated with the traumatic event.

My first session
I offer a free 15-minute consultation to help you decide whether to work with me.
During this call, I'll ask you about the help you're looking for, your hopes and goals for therapy, and tell you a bit about me and how I work.
You're not obligated to continue with treatment after this call, and if you need time to think about it, that's ok too.
If you would like to go ahead, we can then book a time and day that is convenient for you.
This also allows you to ask questions and get clarity on anything you're unsure of.
