About me and my therapy practice

Being a compassionate person and clinical practitioner, empathy comes naturally. I understand that it takes courage to enter into any clinical intervention, yet it shows courage and curiosity, which I embrace alongside my clients.

I have developed my practice over the years, yet I am still curious to learn and develop myself as a clinician. Learning for me, comes as second nature. Since developing my private practice since 2017, I have created a single user journal for young people to support their unique experience of loss. It's a blend of my art skills, combined with clinical models and space for self reflection. You can read more about it through my website, www.inukshuk-publishing.com.

In 2021 I embarked on my MA in Counselling & Psychotherapy, in January 2023 I started the journey to consolidate my learning and growth to become a clinical supervisor qualifying in August 2023.

Practice description

Thank you for visiting my profile page, I'm a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor and author.

I draw from a wealth of being post qualified for ten years. I have a vast experience of working with young people age 6 plus, adults and couples. Themes that I have experience of working with are bereavement, relationships, identity, PTSD, fertility issues, work related stress, anxiety, depression and much more.

I qualified as a Critical Incident Responder in August 2023 and have experience of working in a CI team and 4.5 years of working within EAP services.

I host private practice working remotely offering telephonic, video and face-to-face sessions. These are tailored to meet the needs of my clients. I have two clinics in the northeast to draw from one in Durham, and the other in Newcastle.

Having also been an art teacher for twenty years prior to qualifying in 2016, my approach is creative and innovative, yet I draw from an integrative approach using CBT, psychodynamic, psychoeducational, person centred, mindfulness and compassion focused therapy models.

I welcome all enquiries, via info@inukshuÄ·-publishing.com. I generally respond to these enquiries within a 24 hour window.

In general I recommend six sessions to work to develop a sense of a timeline alongside my clients. This is regularly reviewed both both parties, working towards a therapeutic end or extension by mutual consent.

I tailor the sessions to meet your needs and pace. This will be a journey and I'm aware that its important to allow you to drive the sessions.

I am trained to deliver single sessions, short focused brief intervention, psychological first aid, time limited models, mid to long term intervention.
