About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ with over 17 years' experience working with anyone from the age of 8 years and older, both in the voluntary sector and in private practice.
I have experience of supporting survivors of sexual abuse, clients experiencing PTSD, Dissociative Identity Disorder, general anxiety, depression, anyone feeling a lack of self worth and for those wanting to gain confidence.
I will offer you a warm, non-judgemental, safe space where you can share what is on your mind.
I am fully insured and registered with the ICO.
I offer free 20-minute consultations because I recognise how difficult it can be to make the first step to accessing support and know how important it is to feel comfortable with the person you choose to talk to. During this appointment I will explain how I work, and you have a chance to ask any questions you have.
I offer face to face, online or telephone appointments.
Please contact me with any queries or to arrange an initial appointment.
Practice description
I am an integrative counsellor with person centred counselling as my base. This means for you, the client, I will be led by you during the sessions. I do not diagnose; I will not tell you how you should feel or behave. I will listen without criticism or judgement.
I will facilitate your journey to the goal of your choice.
I can offer coping strategies and work on feelings to help you better understand the way you feel and assist you to live the life that you are hoping to.
My first session
At the first session I hope to get to know you a little better, find out what you want to change about yourself, why you are entering into therapy.
After the free consultation, if you want to work with me as your therapist I will send you a client agreement, if you have any questions about this the first session is the time to ask, although you can ask questions at any time.
Some clients find it beneficial to complete assessments at the first session and during therapy to help them see how changes have occurred. This is optional, you choose if to do this or not, we can discuss the benefits at this session.
