About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced counsellor and supervisor, having worked over the past 10 years in organizations in London and Sussex. I am currently in private practice and work primarily with adults on-line
Before qualifying to be a counsellor, my background was in art and music. I bring a wide life experience to my work that helps me have good rapport with people from many walks of life. I believe it is in the quality of the relationship we have that makes therapy most effective.
Life is challenging and it is helpful, especially during stressful times, to have someone be beside you, to support you. Someone who is empathetic and non-judgemental. I am trained in the Person Centered approach, which means I hold these attributes, as well as being respectful of you and your needs at all times.
We will work on identifying any changes you may like to make and consider how you may go about making those changes. I can help you figure out what you want and how you would like your life to be. Change comes from being able to see things from different perspectives. My aim is for you to gain clarity, so that you see yourself and your life more clearly.
If you are having thoughts or feelings that are troubling you or behaviours you don't fully understand, we can look at what these are and work through them. Sometimes we get in our own way, which makes it hard to move forward. Talking about issues that are important to you, will help you to feel more in charge, more resilient and will help you through any difficulties you might be experiencing.
My specialist area is working with people who suffer from anxiety, depression and low self esteem. You could be feeling angry, stressed, fearful or sad, or you might just want help figuring out what your next steps in life might be. Together we can work through whatever issues you bring, so that you can feel fulfilled and live up to your full potential,
My first session
I am currently working on- line. After an initiaI meeting we can decide if we would like to work together and we will arrange to meet at a regular time on a weekly basis.
