About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Tracy. I am a integrative counsellor, with over 10 years experience of working with individual adults and young people.
Integrative means I adapt my approach to an individuals needs and goals. Humanistic is at the core of my approach, so you will always receive a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental welcome. Other theories within my approach are; psychodynamic= helping to make sense of childhood experiences and relationships, and how they present in the present. CBT= a psychoeducational approach, understanding the power and impact of your thoughts. Transactional analysis= a structure to understand relationships, with yourself and others. Solution focused = a focus on what you want, rather than what you don't. Creative therapy= An approach that frees the unconscious, releases emotions or beliefs perhaps hidden from self, can help to express what words alone can't.
I offer face to face sessions in a relaxed and comfortable setting. I also offer remote sessions via a platform most suited to you. If the great outdoors is where you feel most comfortable, I am more than happy to offer outdoor sessions within my local area. This would be in the form of- walk and talk, sensory, mindfulness or creative therapy using natural materials.
Practice description
Everyone is different, personal and interpersonal insights and understandings are gained through different experiences and process's. I offer time and space to talk through, and reflect on thoughts and feelings. Explore coping strategies and exercises for issues such as anxiety. I also offer creative therapy, a space and range of material to explore thoughts and feelings, that sometimes words can't describe.
Sessions are 50 minuets long and protected by boundaries of confidentiality. Being a member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ and adhering to their ethics and code of good practice means beneficence, respect and integrity is at the heart of all I offer.
I offer you an opportunity to explore your problems in an environment where you will feel safe, supported, listened to and valued. An opportunity to build a therapeutic relationship of trust and respect, in which you can untangle your inner most thoughts and feelings, while feeling accepted, understood and supported in gaining personal insights into your own experiences and/or solutions to your problems that make sense to you.
My first session
I offer a free of charge, 20-30 min, initial session. Giving us an opportunity to meet, explore your problems, your goals and expectations. Any concerns can be shared and questions asked. This then enables you to make an informed decision, of whether I'm the right counsellor for you.
