About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ accredited counsellor and counselling supervisor specialising in therapeutic work with children and young people. I have worked extensively over the last 17 years for children’s charities and schools, using a range of therapeutic approaches. I may incorporate play and creative therapy techniques into my practice, and adapt how I work to the needs of each person.
I am naturally warm-hearted, non-judgemental, friendly and caring towards everyone I work with, with the intention of creating a comfortable, understanding and supportive environment. All these factors can help to bring about positive change and emotional healing.
Practice description
I am able to offer strategies that can help to bring about relief from the distress of panic attacks, anxiety, low moods, stress and associated symptoms. Additionally, I would hope to enable the child or person I work with to develop insight and clarity around difficult experiences and feelings, that will help them cope better, gain resilience and feel better in themselves. This can additionally have a positive impact on someone’s concentration, and ability to learn.
I have significant experience of working supportively with parents, to offer advice and help that could improve both the relationship with their child/children as well as managing challenging behaviours better. Additionally, it could help a parent understand their child’s distress and know how to fully support them. I am also able to offer advocacy for a child or young person, or parent with the school or mental health services (NHS or private).
Costs: £60 per session, first telephone consultation is free.
In addition to concerns listed below, I can also help with friendship difficulties, impact of divorce/family separation, struggles relating to high functioning autism, school refusing, bullying (whether victim or perpetrator), confusion around sexuality, negative experiences on social media, difficult transition to secondary school.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced, qualified clinical supervisor and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ accredited integrative counsellor, specialising in work with children and young people. For the last 18 years, I have worked full-time as an employee for three charities, including Place2Be as a project manager, and provided clinical supervision to experienced and trainee psychotherapists, counselling psychologists, counsellors and therapeutic social workers from a range of theoretical orientations. I have worked as a therapist in 14 schools (primary and secondary) and my integrative theoretical background includes psychodynamic, person centred, transactional analysis, CBT, systemic and Gestalt.¶
As a supervisor, I believe I offer warmth, empathy, support, and creative thinking in supervision sessions. I am also flexible and nondirective in my supervision approach, while remaining accepting of different theoretical models and each supervisee’s unique and individual style of delivering therapy. Further, I am able to provide therapeutic advice, ideas, insight, as well as positive and constructive feedback on the client work being discussed. My intention would be that the supervisee leaves a supervision session feeling a little clearer and better about their work, and goes on to make sense of their sessions and to achieve therapeutic progress with their client.
I have also supervised and worked therapeutically with adult clients and have worked significantly with parents as part of my therapeutic work with children and young people. I have been involved in a great deal of multiagency and multi-professional work too throughout my career.
