About me and my therapy practice
My current practice focusses on providing therapy for eating disorders, disordered eating, relationship with food, weight/shape & body image struggles.
It may be worth noting I work online only on a nationwide basis, I am not available for face-to-face therapy
I use an integrated approach combining my person-centred training with more directive specialist eating disorder therapy. This therapy contains elements of CBT, CBT-e, ACT, DBT. Regular CPD & networking means I am constantly keeping up-to-date with new developments.
Practice description
I use a parallel track model aiming to relieve physical symptoms, whilst working on behavioural change, emotional resilience, and other factors contributing to your situation.
We will look at the contributing and maintaining factors so you can understand why or how you have gotten to where you are now, as well as guide your therapy.
My first session
Therapy starts with assessment looking at all areas of your life, including lifestyle as well as where you are right now - what has brought you to therapy.
Assessment includes lifestyle questionnaire, food diary, 80 minute online meeting using the Zoom platform plus typed summary of our discussion. The online session gives you chance to tell me in your words where you are, your goals, expectations, as well as raise questions and concerns you may have about the therapy.
My role is to to provide guidance, reassurance as well as a glimpse into what the therapy may be like.
