About me and my therapy practice
The right help can make the journey easier.
I work with adults of all ages who are trying to cope with:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Relationship issues
- Prenatal and postnatal emotional difficulties
- Bereavement
- Trauma
- Long-term effects of growing up with mentally unwell parents
- Struggling to find meaning, purpose and motivation, when the world can seem so bleak
Sessions are online using Zoom.
I don't charge for the first assessment session unless you decide to continue to the second assessment.
The process involves expressing and understanding what is troubling you, thinking together about stresses, conflicts, emotions, thoughts, behaviours, fears and losses.
We can reflect on past and present patterns, and explore different ways of feeling, being and managing.
Sometimes we will be in conversation, sometimes I will simply listen.
From time to time we will review our work, aiming towards increased resilience, reduced distress and more satisfying relationships with the people who matter to you.
My approach has a relational-developmental psychodynamic core, integrated with elements of CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and mindfulness, informed by neuroscience.
I trained at Metanoia Institute. I hold an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
If you are considering psychotherapy/counselling, please email therapy@carne.com or get in touch using the contact form and we can arrange an initial phone conversation.
