Availability

I have availability to see new patients at present. I can see patients face to face or on Zoom.  I work Monday and Wednesday afternoons, and 8.30am-5pm on Tuesday.  I don't work at weekends.  I occasionally travel and would then make arrangements to see patients on Zoom.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and am particularly interested in how early experiences can affect a person's view of themselves and their relationship with others. It's often when people are in their twenties and later on that problems appear and lead to unhappiness and depression. My work as a therapist is to help people become aware of the world inside them and to make sense of it so they can better understand and accept themselves. This can take time.

Practice description

I work from home in Oxford and would expect to see patients once a week for a 50 minute session once therapy has begun.  I can see patients twice a week if they are going through particular difficulties in their life.  I like seeing patients face to face but do offer sessions on Zoom, if face to face work is not possible or Zoom is preferred.

I live in West Oxford off the Botley Road. Helen Road is within walking distance of the city centre. Because of the closure of the Botley Road at the railway station, you would need to use the ring road if you came by car. In that case,  I can offer visitors' parking permits.

My first session

I usually see patients for two consultation sessions. I charge £61 for each session but can offer a concessionary fee for students of £51.00. In these sessions I would explore with you your reasons for seeking therapy and the difficulties you have been having. As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, I am interested in your early experiences. If I felt that psychodynamic therapy would not be useful for you, I would tell you. If you decide you would like to embark on therapy after the two consultation sessions, I would ask you to complete and sign an Agreement for Psychotherapy.
