About me and my therapy practice
I am a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ registered and experienced counsellor and supervisor offering both short and long term counselling to adults, children and young people.
I have a particular interest in perinatal mental health, the parent-infant relationship and supporting parents with the transition to parenthood and beyond. I work with both mums and dads experiencing difficulties such as postnatal depression, anxiety and birth trauma. I am also experienced in supporting women with preparing for a subsequent birth following a birth trauma or baby loss.
I have worked as a school counsellor for a leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support interventions to help improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, families, teachers and school staff. I have experience working in primary and secondary schools offering talking therapy, creative and play therapy to students struggling with a range of difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, exam stress, gender and identity, low self-esteem and relationship struggles with family and friends. I am passionate about supporting young people to help build emotional resilience during the challenging times in their lives.
Prior to training as a counsellor I had a career in Human Resources providing HR consultancy, training, coaching, mentoring, mediation and outplacement support within the voluntary and higher education sector. I believe that my previous experience, combined with my clinical experience as a counsellor offers a unique experience in supporting you on your journey.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced psychodynamic counsellor and supervisor working with adults, children and young people in private practice. I have experience working for a postnatal counselling service and in my private practice I support parents struggling with a range of postnatal difficulties as well as supporting women who have experienced baby loss. I have also worked as a school counsellor and as a counselling supervisor for a leading children’s mental health charity.
I supervise practitioners working with adults, children and young people. I also offer reflective supervision to other professionals such as teachers, support staff, Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) and school leaders.
I have a Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision.
Practice description
My supervisory approach is underpinned by both a psychoanalytic/psychodynamic model of supervision and the seven-eyed model of supervision. Within the seven-eyed model of supervision the focus is on all elements of the therapeutic process. This includes a focus on the client and their developmental history, strategies and interventions and the relationship between you and your clients (attending to transference and other unconscious processes). Another important element of the supervision process is around your learning and development. This is carried out through reflection and exploration of your work with clients.
Within a psychodynamic model of supervision, my approach will focus on observing the internal world of your clients as well as the unconscious processes that might occur within the therapeutic relationship, such as defence mechanisms, transference, and countertransference. There will also be a focus on your own psychological process as well as the relationship between us.
I offer a safe and supportive space for you to reflect on your work and to grow and develop as a professional.
I also offer reflective supervision to other professionals such as teachers, Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), learning support staff and healthcare professionals such as social workers and GPs.
My first session
I can offer fortnightly supervision or monthly supervision, depending on your requirements and needs. Fortnightly sessions are for 50 minutes or monthly sessions are for 1.5 hours. I offer individual clinical supervision but am also able to facilitate small group supervision or reflective practice.
