About me and my therapy practice
As a Humanistic counsellor I offer a safe, empathic space to explore whatever has led you here. I will support you to manage your distress and enable your individual potential for growth and fulfilment to be realised. Being holistic in my approach we can creatively work together to make sense of your inner world and unblock disruptions to your psychological health. This process promotes empowering strength and choice in the ‘here and now', all within a non-judgemental, and confidential environment.
I have particular interest in working relationally which can include us reflecting together on our interactions to help inform, support, and improve your relationships with yourself and others. My work is underpinned by attachment theory which considers our earliest relationships and on-going key relational experiences as informative in how we come to interact in the world. By increasing self-awareness in these ways pathways to making different choices become more visible and easier to navigate. I will be there to support and validate this journey.
I am registered with the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ) whose code of ethics I abide by. Since qualifying as a Humanistic Counsellor in 2015 I have worked in a range of settings including private practice, voluntary sector, charitable organisations and with NHS referrals. I have experience of both time-limited and open-ended counselling.
I have experience working with a wide range of issues including anger, anxiety, bereavement, childhood issues, depression, health, identity, isolation, loneliness, family, personal development, relationships, sadness, self-esteem, social anxiety, stress, trauma, and work-related issues.
Prior to training as a Counsellor, I have worked in many caring roles supporting families, young people and individuals experiencing long-term mental health difficulties within the community and within residential settings.
