About me and my therapy practice
Hi,
My name is Val,
I work as a therapeutic counsellor and supervisor in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough areas.
Offering clients a calm and confidential space to explore your thoughts and internal feelings is an important aspect of how I will work together with you in sessions.
Here at Clover Counselling I offer support to clients who may be feeling overwhelmed with anxiety or experiencing panic attacks. Or you may be experiencing sadness, depression, isolation or loneliness. I will listen to you, as you explore your inner feelings and deeper thoughts.
You may be facing a crisis or reached a crossroads in your life, it can feel very daunting. Reaching out and talking about issues and exploring difficulties at your own pace in a safe and confidential space, may help bring some clarity. I will sit and listen to you without judgement.
Living with relationship difficulties and unsure what to do? I am here to listen and support you.
In my therapeutic way of working I consider a variety of therapeutic techniques and adapt my approach to your unique needs.
My first session
Your first session is an opportunity to express your reasons for seeking therapy and I will begin to explore this with you. This includes talking about your present difficulties, background and any other relative information. It is time to see how we would work together and if you feel I am a good fit to work with you.
At the end of the session, if you decide you would like to proceed with sessions, we will agree times and dates together for future sessions.
It is usual to have six sessions and review progress at this point to help keep sessions focused. Booking additional sessions if required can be arranged. You may wish to enter into longer term therapy.
