Practice description

Work with Adults and Couples

I have gained much experience working closely with and supporting many adults as a counsellor over the past few years in various agency and charity settings, as well as in private practice. I have helped the adults I have worked alongside, increase their own self esteem and assisted in empowering them to improve their own ability to deal with difficulties in their lives both individually and in couples including issues such as:

anxiety, depression, loss, bereavement, anger, relationship difficulties, communication and conflict management,Infertility, miscarriage, trauma, addiction, isolation, abuse, rape and domestic violence.

Work with Youths and Children

With over 20 years experience valuable experience working with children, teens and youths in groups and individually. Previously worked for a children’s charity providing emotional and therapeutic support in primary and secondary schools, building children's resilience through talking, creative work and play. Helping them to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma Helping them to increase confidence and self esteem particularly when experiencing anxiety relating to issues such as relationships, loss and bullying.

I believe that there is always something new to learn and make a commitment to on-going professional development in different areas and undertake regular clinical supervision.
