About me and my therapy practice
Do you feel something needs to change? Are current relationships strained. Are you struggling with day to day task or becoming anxious? Are things from your past still affecting you now? I can help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings and assist you to make the changes you want. I have seen the amazing transformations people can make with the right therapeutic support.
I am a person-centred integrative counsellor, which means I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, creative arts and play therapy. I will work with you to achieve the best outcomes for you and tailor the therapy to meet your individual needs.
I believe in creating a place of safety, and a relationship that is non-judgemental and that allows a person to work through their difficult issues and traumas. My approach is to be empathic, respectful and treat people with sensitivity and dignity. Together we would make sense of your memories, thoughts and feelings and help you find ways to increase self awareness and to regain a sense of emotional wellbeing.
Practice description
I am a Person-Centred Therapist, have a Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, trained in Solution Focused Coaching and Certified in Couples Counselling. I have undertaken Graduate Level 1 and 2 in Trauma and Attachment with the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute. This therapy combines cognitive talking therapies with somatic approaches to help reduce trauma and attachment based symptoms.
I am also an advanced registered restorative practitioner with the Restorative Justice Council, trained to deal with conflict resolution and restorative mediation.
My first session
At the beginning of our work together I will carry out an assessment, this will help identify those areas in your life that we will work on.
All counselling sessions last for 50 minutes. The number of sessions needed varies from person to person. At the beginning of our work together we will plan to meet for a number of sessions and progress will then be reviewed at regular intervals.
