About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist offering a confidential and non-judgmental environment in which to explore the issues with which you are struggling. Depression, anxiety, stress and many physical symptoms are an expression of emotional pain. The feelings can affect our ability to lead satisfying and fulfilling lives and often express themselves in damaging ways. They tend to disrupt relationships and sometimes they lead to addictions, eating disorders and other other types of self-harm. Through talking about and reflecting on difficult situations and the past which has contributed to them, I can help you to untangle the confusion of painful emotions and to manage them in healthier ways.

About me and my therapy practice
Emotional confusion and pain affects our ability to lead satisfying and fulfilling lives. It can impact on our physical health and damage our concentration. Many of us have developed patterns of behaviour that damage ourselves and those around us. No matter what the problem, therapy can help you to untangle the confusion and deal more healthily with the pain. As a psychoanalytic psychotherapist I am interested in both your past and your present life, to help you make links which can help you to understand and manage current circumstances.
I offer a confidential space to explore and help you to understand the issues with which you are struggling. By establishing a trusting relationship, we can begin to reflect on these in new, healthier ways.
Practice description
As a psychoanalytic psychotherapist I am interested in exploring the connections between your past and present life. Making and understanding links between your childhood and your current issues is an important part of the work. Our sessions have no set agenda, no right and wrong, no sessional targets. The therapeutic process takes time and builds on the relationship that develops between us. Continuity is important so I work on the basis of sessions at the same time each week. Sessions can be weekly or more frequent.
My first session
The decision to start therapy can be very difficult and finding a therapist you feel you can work can be a challenging process at a time where perhaps you already feel overwhelmed. I will respond promptly to your enquiry and normally arrange to speak to you on the phone briefly prior to meeting.
