About me and my therapy practice

I am a psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience working with individuals , couples, children and families. I moved to the Island in 2007 having fond memories of childhood holidays spent here in the sunshine.

I practice systemically thinking about our relationship patterns in our family of origin, our current life at home , as a couple or individual within school, college or work and how these influence ourselves and others.

Clients often speak of finding new meaning and purpose following our work together, which has helped them to move towards change and I am as inspired to learn from my clients as they are from me .

We will talk about close and intimate experiences which often can influence our preferred stories about self or other and our identity formation .

Sometimes we may need to challenge our thinking or actions in relationship and we will use our therapeutic relationship to co-create new ways of moving forward which can enhance our lives and transform our family or work dynamics .

I am a mother, grandmother, wife and carer and have experience of dealing with trauma , disability and family separation as well as sexual, emotional and domestic abuse. Many parents and children on the Island have benefitted from sessions with me both in private practice or within the context of my work within the NHS or charitable sectors .

I work with the context of neurodiversity or recent as well as long term medical diagnoses, and coming to terms with integrating these into our relationship patterns.

I look forward to meeting with you and discussing the patterns in life or struggles that you and others maybe encountering .

I have been working within private practice, pastoral, voluntary, statutory (NHS CAMHS), educational and corporate contexts since 2002 within a supervisory context.

I have current experience of individual, group or systemic family therapy and couples  practice amounting to over 25 years of clinical practice.

I trained originally within the integrative humanistic model and widened this to include systemic social constructionist and narrative practices.

I am trained by Rudi Dallos and Chip Chimera more recently in the Attachment Narrative Trauma model of engaging with individuals, couples and families.

I wrote my Masters dissertation on talking about sex and its uses in therapeutic practice and have held several workshops concerning this specialist area of interest.

I am updating my clinical supervision training with Exeter University to be accredited with AFT and UKCP as well as my registered and accredited Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ status which is current .

About me and my therapy practice

I work with personal stories and narratives that influence learning about our identity across contexts and how this identity is fluid and can be enhanced by non-blaming deconstructive conversations or dialogues.

I am interested in who people experience themselves to be when in a co-constructed relational dynamic with others
