About me and my therapy practice
Do you want relief from stress and anxiety?
Do you need help with low mood?
Need to think through life choices / work choices with someone outside of your life?
Need help to juggle the balls of ill health, work and the rest of your life?
Are you looking for help to understand the psychological process that can sometimes contribute to the worsening of health issues?
To get strategies to manage your health and wellbeing during times of life transitions?
I can help you to experience less stress and anxiety, improve your resilience levels, understand more of your own process, and feel more in control of your life.
Are you needing help with managing difficult relationships?
Do you despair of ever feeling content or happy again?
Are you seeking a more holistic way of managing your health or life as a whole, than the medical world offers?
I offer a unique road-map towards better health and a stronger sense of wellbeing using holistic and creative hybrid model of helping that straddles Counselling, Psychotherapy and Coaching.
The three pillars to my way of working are self-exploration, self-understanding and self-care.
The benefits of working with me include extensive knowledge & experience (over 25 years) of working with people in a variety of settings.
I bring almost 30 years of experience as a Counsellor and Life Coach gained from working in the NHS, Children's charities, domestic violence charities, organisations offering counselling to young people as well as adults.
I have also gained experience over a long period of time working physical long-term health conditions with this holistic model.
As well as innovative conversations, I use outside-the-box thinking, and a range of creative methods that allow us to access parts of the brain that are normally out of consciousness. This enables us to work deeply, and to make lasting change.
Practice description
Sessions can be face to face or online - online they are delivered by MS Teams for your convenience.
The premises I work from has a standard doorway which is accessible via a small step. The therapy room is a mere few steps away from the front door. If you have accessibility needs in terms of mobility, please contact me to discuss specifics.
I am client centred in putting you at the heart of the work, being led by you and your goals. I work at your pace, preferring to accommodate you the person rather than try to make you fit any particular model. I want to see you succeed in your life, and that is what drives my work. My long-held areas of interest are the mind-body link, chronic ailments and wellbeing through creativity. I will consider working with most issues.
I hold an MA in Child, Adolescent & Family therapy; a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling, a Diploma in Coaching; a Diploma in Supervision and an MA in Creative Writing. I am Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ Accredited.
I also provide mental health consultations for professionals and businesses.
If you wish to book in for a session, I will send you a working agreement to read and return with your signature to indicate understanding. This agreement details the terms of the work and includes information relating to cancellation policy, lateness policy etc. Then a mutually convenience time & day can be booked.
If you wish to terminate our work, I suggest we consider having one ending session per month of working together within which we can speak about what has been achieved, what remains outstanding, give feedback to one another and say our goodbyes. A longer finishing period may be needed if we have worked together for longer than 6 months. We can decide together what feels right.
My first session
I do offer a 15min consultation - by video - to see if we feel we connect enough and feel comfortable enough together to undertake the work.
In our initial full session we will undertake an assessment, to start talking about what you want to achieve in the work and for the work to start.

About me and my therapy practice
Supervision with me is a collaborative space where we discuss anything that impacts your client work.
I view supervision as an activity that is supportive, exploratory and educative.
As I am trained integratively, I tend to use a range of theoretical models to inform my thinking and apply to the material you bring to supervision. For details, see below.
Practice description
You are encouraged to feel comfortable enough to bring anything to supervision.
This may be directly related to client sessions, but it may also include things that are more personal to you as I believe that we cannot compartmentalise ourselves. Given that we are integrated beings, personal matters can impact our work. Therefore I view this as 'mill for the grist'. However we will always bring the discussion back to the client and how your material may impact your work with the client. And vice versa.
Discussions about the dynamic between client and therapist, the relationship, is also suitable for discussion within supervision with me.
My integrative pallette includes attachment theory, psychodynamic thinking, CBT, TA, relational and person-centred approaches. I also include a creative thought process and may suggest anything from visualisation to journalling to play-doh for ways of working with clients as well as talking therapy. But this is for you the counsellor to take or leave as you see fit - ultimately, you know your clients better than I.
Above all, supervision is your space to talk about your work, and so you are in the driving seat.
My first session
