About me and my therapy practice
As an experienced professional therapeutic counsellor with over two decades of full clinically supervised experience of working in the post trauma-counselling and psychotherapy arena.
Now a dedicated trauma specialist, trainer and clinical supervisor, I have gained a wealth of knowledge in many areas of client work and across the board, in organisational and corporate working environments.
With a multitude of experience of working with the aftermath of families of murder victims, child death, road traffic collision, workplace accidents, aftermath of suicide, personal injury and assault, victims of domestic abuse and violence, rape and/or sexual violence and adult survivors of childhood rape and sexual assault. I am fully trained and accredited to Senior level by the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ (British Association Counselling & Psychotherapy) NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society) and having trained with Alexandra (Sandi) Richman in Hampstead, London, am a trained EMDR practitioner specialising primarily in trauma associated symptoms, PTSD and Complex-PTSD.
Practice description
The PTSD & C-PTSD Programmes are available across the UK through a Counselling and EMDR Telehealth Hipaalink system.
The PDF fillable Client Workbook can be accessed online (or i am happy to send one out by mail) once the initial assessment has been completed.
As well as core trauma training, further relevant extended training has been completed to enable professional and efficient work on a Telehealth system through a specific EMDR platform called HIPAA LINK. With its’ Bilateral Stimulation (BLS) feature it allows for enhanced therapeutic outcomes by stimulating both sides of the brain simultaneously, facilitating accelerated processing, and integration of traumatic experiences.
HIPAA LINK is the first fully integrated visual and auditory feature for providers trained in offering EMDR Therapy Sessions (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). Clients do not need to have the HIPAA LINK app installed. They just click on their invitation link and enter the virtual therapy room, ready to start their session.
This ensures that clients get the very best treatment, a shared virtual space, and boundaried connection where clients can create their own healing space.
With so many enquiries from across the UK, this ensures that we can offer the same service to a wider network. We can reach out to those who need them anywhere in the UK.
My first session
The initial assessment session looks at your life and how you have lived to date, what difficulties you may have endured, who, if anyone, had your back and how you would like to live your life now and going forward.
This first session is for 90mins and allows time and space to look at various incidents and core belief patterns in your life. It is very nurturing, safe and confidential.
