About me and my therapy practice

I have been practising as a counsellor,  therapist, supervisor and counselling trainer since 1998 and would describe myself as an Integrative practitioner and trauma specialist, and work with a wide variety of issues.

I am a fully qualified and accredited EMDR Therapist with a great deal of experience with PTSD and Complex PTSD. I am trained in Attachment Focused and Informed-EMDR. My work is underpinned by these approaches and Parts Work/IFS and Polyvagal Theory. I have completed extensive training in Somatic Trauma Therapy.

All therapy and supervision sessions cost £60 per hour for individuals and £80 an hour for organisations/EAPs.

I am a qualified clinical supervisor and have extensive experience supervising individuals and groups. Supervision costs £60 an hour for individuals and £80 an hour for organisations.

I offer a warm, friendly, highly experienced and professional service and am well worth a visit.

I have completed training and developed experience with offering regular and trauma focused therapy online and find this highly effective.

I work with adults and young people (aged 14 and above).

Practice description

My in person practice runs out of a discrete office in central Wakefield, with parking nearby. Unfortunately there is no current access for wheelchair users.

I work online with people from all over the country.

I work with people from all kinds of backgrounds who are looking for short and long term work. I work with first responders, medical staff, EAPs and charities. My aim is to help you safely work through your difficulties and learn to live with your experiences without them being a burden.

My first session

I offer a free 30 minute initial consultation via phone.

In this session I will ask you to tell me what it is you want to get out of coming for therapy. I will ask you to briefly describe what current and historical factors might be affecting your difficulties. You will not be asked to go into detail until we decide whether we are going to work together.

I will answer any questions you have about my training and experience, tell you more about how I work and whether I feel I might be able to help. Together we will work out whether I am the right therapist for you, and if I believe I’m not that therapist I will talk to you about what or who you may need instead  there are no strings to the first sessions and you can decide not to continue with no consequences at all. It matters to me that we are the right fit and that I believe I can be helpful.
