About me and my therapy practice
My name is Ali Jones and I am a psychotherapist and supervisor.
I hold multiple accreditations with different professional bodies, as both a supervisor and psychotherapist, including BABCP, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ (Snr Accredited) and UKCP. I work with adults and young people (teenagers onwards) and I provide supervision and consultative support to Psychological Therapists and other professionals. I offer appointments in my office in Egerton, Kent (TN27) and offer online sessions.
I have over thirty years experience as a psychotherapist and have worked for over 23 years within the NHS with my final role being as Principal Psychotherapist and Operational lead for a Secondary Care Psychology team.
I have wide experience in all common mental health problems as well as most serious mental illnesses. I have a passion in bringing physical and mental health interventions together, and in the role that exercise can play in improving mental health and lifespan and have been involved in lots of research in this area.
Practice description
I have had multiple psychological trainings over the years and these include Psychodynamic, EMDR, Schema Focused therapy, ACT, CBT etc. My qualifications include MSc CBT, MA Ed, MA Psychotherapy (dist), Diplomas in Supervision, Psychodynamic Counselling and many other trainings.
My way of working is largely integrative and relational, developing a clear formulation of problems, and providing flexible and supportive interventions that are informed by psychologically well-evidenced practice tailored to my client’s unique experiences.
I work with clients in both short and long-term approaches. I regard the cornerstones of my practice to be collaboration, flexibility, openness and consistency.
My first session

Practice description
I value supervision and have always aimed to foster a supervision culture within my workplace. My supervision style is collaborative, dynamic and creative. Over a long career I have supervised counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists of many differing orientations.
For many years I have supervised multi-disciplinary teams within the NHS and I established a supervision program for Psychiatrists which was effective and well received over many years. I have also supervised many non-psychological professions, bringing the benefits of reflective practice, self- care and improved wellbeing within the workplace.
Of course I have had multiple supervision trainings over the years including a Diploma in Supervision from The Minster Centre, IAPT supervision training, Exeter University's Supervision for SMI training etc.
I am a Senior Accredited Supervisor with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ and an Accredited Supervisor with BABCP.
My first session
I think that the Supervisory relationship is the basis of good supervision and I am happy to have informal discussions to ensure that my skill set and orientation is a 'good match' prior to beginning any formal supervision contract.
